The Fourth

Happy fourth, everyone. 

And happy birthday, America. 

Today is kind of a big deal in our history but I somehow always forget this and tend to only associate this day with fireworks and oversized flags. As festive as I am with all holidays, I was thrilled when I found this dress in a consignment shop downtown a few months ago and I couldn't wait for this day. Finally! The hem was originally between my knee and ankle... so obviously it needed slight fixing. This is a pretty normal thing for me to 

do-- buy something one way and tweak it into something a little different. So, all of you who think you can't work the thrift apparel, think again. Make it your own, I always do!

I truly can't express how incredible red lipstick is. For some reason, a lot of people are intimidated by it... which is a shame because it can completely piece together your look. It's really an accessory in itself. Be the first of your friends to incorporate red lips into everyday life. Break the mold, go bold.

Any Way the Wind Blows

Last night, my best friend Katie and I decided to pull out some old treasures and piece them together. The feather dress I got from a little consignment store called Erica's and the little cream swirl flats I bought in 4th grade for a Halloween costume. Yes, I still wear the same size. The triple-flowered headband is a forgotten and much-missed favorite which I definitely plan to incorporate more often. Watches being my latest craze, I added a little wristswag to top it off.
