The Fourth

Happy fourth, everyone. 

And happy birthday, America. 

Today is kind of a big deal in our history but I somehow always forget this and tend to only associate this day with fireworks and oversized flags. As festive as I am with all holidays, I was thrilled when I found this dress in a consignment shop downtown a few months ago and I couldn't wait for this day. Finally! The hem was originally between my knee and ankle... so obviously it needed slight fixing. This is a pretty normal thing for me to 

do-- buy something one way and tweak it into something a little different. So, all of you who think you can't work the thrift apparel, think again. Make it your own, I always do!
